More Bug Problems

With Ting it was simple.  I was pregnant for nine months, had a baby, then life moved on.  Not so much this time around.  Bug is definitely giving his mommy fits.

I started the week feeling yucky again and hubby leaving for a week long work project three hours away.  Made it through Monday but ended up back in the hospital a few hours on Tuesday.  Came home Tuesday night with more meds and my mommy!  My mom ended up staying at our house with me and Ting the entire week.

Ting was on Spring Break so she stayed with my grandparents here in town most of the week.  It was a long and exhausting week.  I know my mom, and everyone else, were completely worn out, but I really appreciate all they did for us all week.

Hubby got home Friday evening, about four hours before I decided we needed to go back to the hospital.  Blood work showed my white blood count was up again and I was still having sporadic contractions.  I had to stay in the hospital until this afternoon (Sunday) getting meds and taking it easy.

Ting went to her other grandparents for the weekend, and Chloe is hanging out with my grandparents.  I’ve been placed on limited bed rest for the time being.  Basically I can go to work a couple of hours a day and then home – nothing else.

I really really appreciate my parents, grandparents, aunt, in-laws, and entire extended family for taking care of me and my little family this week.  Hopefully Vin will make a safe arrival very soon and we can all get back to our somewhat-normal lives!

Good Bye Mr. Winter

South Arkansas always has crazy weather, so it’s no real surprise that it is already warm and pretty outside.  Of course I still expect our Easter cold snap we get every year, but it has been nice to get to go outside more and let Ting run off some of her crazy energy.  So this weekend, we said good-bye to winter!

Ting and hubby rode the four-wheeler and Ting got her first glimpse into the world of tree-climbing!

Snack time for everyone!

Finally got her a new helmet

And Chloe and I did what we do best; we laid around the house and did a lot of nothing!

I hope everyone has a wonderful first day of Spring. Please keep me and baby Bug in your prayers as we tackle these last few weeks.  My body is so sore and completely worn out.  I am determined to make it through the end of the month, but it’s going to be a long two weeks!

First of all, I am feeling much better.  I’m still exhausted but it’s more of a regular pregnancy exhausted, not a sick exhausted.

I’m 34 1/2 weeks along and counting down the days (and sometimes hours, ha) until we get to meet our little Bug.  We’re going to try to finish getting his room together this weekend so I’ll post pictures when it’s complete.

I have to brag on my awesome and amazing husband.  He’s always wonderful, but he has really stepped it up since my episode last week.  He has cooked supper every night, he has done most of the work taking care of Ting, and he has worked to try to keep the house looking decent as well.  He even fixes me a bowl of ice cream every night and delivers it to me in the recliner.  Yes, he rocks!

A little funny story… tonight at the dinner table Ting asked some random question that didn’t really have a “real” answer.  After about two seconds, hubby and I both said the exact same answer, at the exact same time, with the exact same tone in our voice.  (and it was not just one word, more like two sentences)  We both just looked at each other and then busted out laughing.  Eleven years together and that’s the first time we’ve done that!

Has It Been A Week?

Has it really been a week since I posted?  Sorry everyone, I’ve been exhausted.

Our week started with the big semi-annual consignment sale in our area.  It was the Spring/Summer event and I always manage to find the majority of Ting’s wardrobe at these sales.  I was also in need of some church clothes for Bug.  Ting spent the night with my in-laws so my mom and I could go.  As usual, I found a ton of stuff for Ting.  I was so disappointed in the selection for Bug.  Boy clothes all look the same, and church clothes are nearly impossible to find.  We left with about 20 outfits for Ting, and a measly 8 for Bug.  Oh well.

The night left me tired and hurting.  I’ve spent the past two weeks feeling worse and worse, but blamed it on the fact that I’m in the final weeks of pregnancy and it is what it is.  I’ve been so swollen to the point that my shoes hurt and my fingers can barely move to type.  It all came to a head at my 34 week OB appointment.  My doctor walked in and immediately told me how bad I looked!  After I explained how bad I felt, she took me to the labor & delivery department.

They put me on the monitors and did some lab work.  Turns out my white blood count was pretty high and the infection in my body was causing my exhaustion.  It was also causing me to have contractions.  When the put me on the monitor, the contractions were happening 3-5 minutes apart!

With Ting I only had back labor, so I honestly didn’t know what a contraction felt like.  At one point, the nurse watched the monitor and told me when I was having a contraction.  When I realized what they were, I also realized I’d been having them for several weeks.  They gave me meds to stop the contractions, which only made them stronger and more uncomfortable.

The doctor said that an infection will definitely cause them, so now I’m on some antibiotics and the contractions have definitely decreased.  We are going to keep an eye on things and hopefully make it several more weeks.

Now, back to work tomorrow! Have a great week everyone.

Ting’s Pledge

As I’ve mentioned before, Ting goes to a small Christian school that is run by my in-laws.  Although she is only two years old and not officially enrolled in school, she picks up on so many things that are going on in the class around her.

This weekend, she was running around the house saying “Attention, Salute, Pledge”.  I know that every morning the school pledges to the American Flag, Christian Flag, and Bible.  I asked her if she knew her pledges, just to see what she said.

I was amazed, and got so tickled.  Keeping in mind that she is only two, it is hilarious that she just combines them.  Her pledge goes like this:

“I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag
of the United States of America
And to the republic for which it stands
One kingdom under God
Until He comes again”

She’s learning…
