Mommy's Out of Practice

Before I tell you about my morning, I want to tell you about my conversation with Ting last night.  When I said her bedtime prayers, I prayed for our family in the path of Isaac.  When I was done:
Ting: Umm, who did you just pray for?
Me: What do you mean?
Ting: You said someone I don't know
Me:  Isaac?
Ting: Yes (and a very serious look on her face) WHO is Isaac?

I then explained that sometimes when there is a storm down by the water it rains a lot and the wind blows really hard.  It's called a hurricane.  When there is a hurricane, the weather people like to give it a name and right now there is one named Isaac.

Ting: Haha, that's funny mommy!

In any case, please say an extra prayer tonight and tomorrow for those that will be affected by Isaac.  We have family in New Iberia, LA and well as Mobile, AL.  I'm sure they would all appreciate an extra prayer sent their way.

But to the point of this post....

I realized this morning that I have gotten a little lazy since hubby has been staying home with the kids.  When we were both working, my alarm went off at 5:00am each morning and we were dressed and out the door by 7:00am.  Since hubby has been staying at home I have been sleeping until 7:00 and barely getting out the door in time for work.

This week hubby is working a temp job so he is leaving before I get up.  So, I had both kids to myself while I was getting ready this morning.  Thankfully my grandma came to stay with them and I didn't actually have to get them dressed and out the door.

It started with Bug deciding that he needed a bottle at 4:30 this morning.  The kid never gets up in the middle of the night.  I like to think he just wanted to spend a little extra time with mommy since I was gone all weekend.  Then, as soon as I got in the shower this morning I heard him start crying.

By the time I got out of the shower Bug was throwing a fit and Ting was standing in the door asking for her chocolate milk.  I decided to try and meet everyone's needs before I put my contacts in.  Have I mentioned that I'm near blind??  I tripped over something in the living room and almost poured tea into Ting's chocolate milk cup.

Back in the bathroom I put Bug in his seat in the doorway.  Forgetting to strap him in, I glanced in his direction just as he was falling forward and about to hit his head on the floor.  I forget that he is trying to sit up these days!  Ting didn't like the cartoons that were on.  Bug didn't like the noise that Ting was making.  And I was officially late for work... again.

I've said numerous times that I'm going to be worthless when Hubby goes back to work, but I had no idea it was that bad!!
